So this has to be an advanced software settings issues somewhere.īoth HDMI's on the Belkin were working correctly at one time or another, both HDMI cables were working correctly at one time or another, and under both of my scenarios whichever HDMI wasn't being recognized by the computer - worked directly when plugged into the laptops direct HDMI port as all three devices were recognized, shown as active (video and audio worked). This happened the first time on the first device but in the reverse order.

Unfortunately, that meant only HDMI 2 was plugged into the Belkin and the other was plugged directly into the HP Spectre x360's HDMI port. So once again, I took the "affected cable" this time that was in HDMI 2 and plugged it right into the laptops HDMI port and all three (3) displays were recognized. In addition, this also confirmed that the Belkin device was not the source of the problem itself - as both technical support confirmed this too. So that confirmed to me it was neither the monitor having an issue 1 or 2, nor the cables having the issue.

Why I say this is rather straightforward.Īfter some trial and tribulations of trying to fuss some more with this issue I was finally able to get HDMI #2 port off the back of the Belkin mini doc to work, but low and behold then HDMI #1 detected that there was no input.

" I find this so reprehensible as my "monitor" doesn't have this feature and I'd be willing to bet neither does any of the multitude of computers affected by this issue. In short, it has you go into the monitors' OSD (on-screen display) and to " Uncheck No Input Signal Warning. The quote unquote solution was of little to no help whatsoever. I found an HP Notification as of this month with a plethora of HP computers/labtops that had this very disturbing issue.

All my drivers are up to date, all windows updates are up to date, device manager checks out, but one thing caught my eye and interest tonight which is very disturbing. Okay I've been at this issue all afternoon and well into the evening (nearly midnight). Surely, I don't want to believe this, but if this is the case I'm going to be extremely disappointed. I did find somewhere that sales had told another consumer that Thunderbolt 3 never really worked the HP Spectre x360. My year's warranty just expired a month and a half ago and I never had anything ever connected to the Thunderbolt 3 dock slot. Can someone tell me if there's any advance settings I'm overlooking here please? This shouldn't be so difficult, as this is a plug and play hardware. Again they stated that all my drivers are up to date, all my basic settings are proper at this time. 1) contact HP directly for support and/or 2) return the unit back again and pick another docking station. All my basic settings are correct and good to go, they tried to see if there were any updates for the Thunderbolt for HP on it's website and tried to run the latest but it wouldn't run on my computer (after specifically picking out the correct computer through the software system that identifies your make and model).Īt this point they suggested I had two options. I called Belkin yet again, and they remoted into my laptop. It had to be a settings issue or issues at this point. So this let me know that it wasn't an issue with any of the monitors and/or the cables. Out of curiosity I disconnected the HDMI #2 cable from the back of the docking station and went directly to the side of my laptop into it's HDMI connection and all 3 monitors lit up and were working well. Came home and the second unit had a similar issue but with the HDMI #2 slot. The first unit I got well the HDMI #1 slot wasn't recognized and after troubleshooting this with Belkin they provided me with a case number and I returned the unit back to BestBuy and swapped it out for another new unit. Should be all plug and play or so I thought. So I bought a second Insignia Television monitor in addition to 2 6 ft HDMI Cables that are capable of 4K High Definition Connect with high speed with Ethernet. I was tired of just having one Insignia Television monitor connected directly to my HP Spectre x360 HDMI slot - that's why I bought the Belkin T3. Today I purchased a Belkin Thunderbolt 3 mini dock that provides dual monitor support via 2 HDMI at 40 Gbps.
